Impact Child Safety Training Program
You want your children to grow up safe and happy. So do we.
Our children's program teaches kids how to handle the potentially dangerous
situations they could face in school, at home, around their neighborhoods, with
their friends, in their extracurricular activities, and everywhere they go.
They learn how to recognize bad situations, how to get out of them, and how to
get help. Our program educates children in a safe, fun, age appropriate manner
that will encourage and empower kids (not scare them). With this training, kids
can go in to be strong and successful - they never have to be victims. We teach
valuable self-defense lessons, such as:

Kids CAN learn to protect themselves. They can learn to how recognize danger, how to speak up and say no, and how to get help. They may not necessarily be able to overpower a larger attacker, but they can definitely improve their knowledge and awareness of what to watch out for, and develop the physical skills to get out of a bad situation and get home safe. Whether it’s a bully or a predator or anything in between, our program gives kids the best defense there is – the courage and confidence to stand up for themselves.
Girls Only Program
Impact has developed a girls safety and self-defense
program specifically to teach young females how to protect themselves against
threats like child predators, attempted abduction, peer bullying, unwanted
advances, stranger danger, and more. We don't want girls to fall prey to the
lures or lies of a dangerous adult, nor do we want them to be intimidated and
overpowered by a bigger or stronger attacker. We teach girls how to set social
boundaries, how to speak up against being teased or bullied by their school
mates, how to break free of a hold or grab, and how to fight off an attacker by
injuring and attacking their most vulnerable targets. The courage and
self-confidence they gain from this specialized training will keep girls
strong, confident and safe for life.
*This program can also be given as class for mothers and daughters together |
Predator Defense program
It’s terrible, but it’s true – dangerous adults sometimes
prey on children. Child predators can use lures, coercion, manipulation and
lies to gain a child’s trust, get them isolated away from friends and family,
and put them in inappropriate and abusive situations. We don’t want to scare
kids, but we do want to teach them to recognize the warning signs of someone
who’s trying to take advantage of them. Is the predator asking them to keep
secrets? Trying to buy their affection with gifts? Inviting them to spend time
together alone? Tactics like these should spark an alarm in the child’s
intuition and tell them to get away immediately, and that’s why we teach kids
what to watch out for. If the situation is worse – if the predator is
attempting to physically abuse them – we teach children to fight back full
force if necessary, and escape immediately and get help. Kids can yell, scream,
hurt the predator, get free and “go tell” their family or a trusted adult.
Avoiding the danger is the best possibility, but in an emergency it’s time to
break free from the attacker and escape.

Anti-Bullying Program
When kids are mean to other kids, it’s bullying - and it’s
an all too common problem. Bullying can happen at school, around neighborhoods,
on the school bus, the playground, and so on. The conflicts, the teasing, the
torment, and the pain can happen day in and day out, unless we put a stop to
it. Some instances have even led victims to take their own lives and escape
their suffering through suicide. Children NEED the verbal, physical, and
emotional skills to be strong and stand up for themselves in the face of
bullying. We teach kids what to say, what to do, and how to get help when it’s
happening to them. They learn to use assertive communication skills, to use
confident body language, and to gauge the appropriate level of force if the
situation gets physical. We also educate children about reporting bullying to
teachers and school administrators, as well as talking about it with their
parents. And, importantly, we encourage children to step in and help their
friends and classmates if they see them being bullied too.

Anti-Abduction Program
We hope it never, ever happens to our children. If someone
tried to grab them and abduct them, would our children know what to do? If
someone tried to convince our child to get in a car or come along with them,
would they know how to break free and escape to safety? We teach kids how to
respond to “stranger danger” and how to react to a sudden grab. Children learn
to yell and scream and cause a scene to attract attention. They learn to thrash
about wildly like a temper tantrum. They learn to bite and scratch and hit, and
how to hurt them attacker’s vulnerable targets. They learn to brace themselves
against cars and doorways to make it that much harder for the abductor to
capture them. And before the grab ever happens, they learn how abductors can use
lies and stories to try to trick them into going with them. The awareness
skills and the verbal and physical techniques that we teach can make all the
difference in saving children’s lives and keeping them safe no matter where they
go.
